Murchison & Cumming, LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal with 10+ years of defense litigation experience to join our Los Angeles or Irvine team.
This is a substantive litigation role for a paralegal who wants to be an integral part of the case team. You will work closely with experienced litigators from discovery through trial, helping manage records, evidence, deadlines, case preparation and trial support for clients that include businesses, insurers and professionals.
The role is well suited for someone who works confidently and independently, anticipates what the litigation team will need next, and values being trusted with meaningful responsibility.

What You’ll Do:
Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions and trial preparation
Draft written discovery, responses, objections and meet-and-confer correspondence
Conduct document review and assist with document production and privilege logs
Prepare medical chronologies, billing summaries and deposition summaries
Assist with deposition preparation and attend meetings as appropriate
Manage case files, evidence and key litigation deadlines
Prepare trial notebooks, witness and exhibit lists, exhibit binders and other trial materials
Assist attorneys during hearings and trials as needed
Perform a number of other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
10+ years of defense litigation experience
Significant experience supporting California civil litigation
Strong knowledge of discovery and trial preparation
Excellent organizational, research, writing and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to manage, meet, and track internal and external deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
This is a senior-level position requiring the ability to independently manage all aspects of assigned matters, anticipate case needs, exercise sound judgment, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
