The Noble Law is growing, and we are looking for experienced employment law attorneys and litigators that want to join an established and successful multijurisdictional plaintiff’s employment law firm.
The Noble Law, a women-owned practice, is a recognized leader in employment law that is leveling the field for employees in North and South Carolina. The Firm has offices in Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, N.C., and Charleston, S.C. We also take cases in New York and the District of Columbia. We work to deliver outcomes with integrity and empathy for the client's journey. Our success is measured by delivering positive impacts for our clients and serving as a catalyst for changes in employment law and society.
Our Firm has well-developed processes, including a specially trained intake department, an automated matter workflow system, and a data-driven marketing plan. We emphasize reputation development, attorney-client relationships, client satisfaction, and quality control, all under a systematic approach that is continuously tested and improved upon. We believe every member on our team enriches our diversity by exposing us to a broad range of ways to understand and engage with the world, identify challenges, and to discover, design, and deliver solutions.
At Noble Law, Lead Attorneys are defined as attorneys with sufficient experience to manage client matters with minimal oversight and direction. That means that a Lead Attorney is expected to assess potential matter outcomes, determine risks, manage client expectations, develop strategies to achieve client outcomes, and manage matters to an efficient and satisfactory conclusion. Lead Attorneys have the discretion to manage their own caseload with input from the Managing Partner as needed.
A Lead Attorney represents individual clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters with issues arising out of state and federal employment laws and other related laws. Cases typically involve discrimination, workplace retaliation, sexual harassment, employment-related tort claims, non-payment of earned wages, family and medical leave, workplace accommodations, wrongful termination, due process terminations, "whistleblower" actions, enforcement of and defense against covenants not to compete, and other employment-related issues.
The Lead Attorney will:
- Represent clients in agency proceedings, including at the EEOC, NC DOL, NLRB, and other government administrative bodies.
- Represent clients in arbitration, at trial, and on appeal.
- Collaborate with their legal team to litigate and resolve client matters by:
o Consulting with clients and keeping them informed throughout the representation
o Reviewing client documents
o Gathering evidence
o Interviewing witnesses
o Conducting legal research
o Developing and revising case strategies to achieve client goals and best possible outcomes
o Maintaining a complete and organized client file and preserving evidence
o Keeping track of and meeting all deadlines
o Providing instruction and direction to their legal team
o Negotiating with opposing counsel
o Representing the client in agency interviews, mediations, and other third-party meetings
o Drafting pleadings
o Defending against counterclaims
o Drafting and responding to discovery
o Taking and defending depositions
o Drafting and responding to motions and supporting briefs
o Participate in oral arguments at hearings
o Conduct full-blown evidentiary proceedings, including trials
o Draft and redline settlement agreements
The Lead Attorney will report to the Firm’s Managing Partner regarding case status and strategy. Additionally, they will work with an assigned paralegal and legal assistant to manage their caseload.
